The ex-RB Leipzig player Ibrahima Konate could not stop expressing his love for Liverpool ahead of the clash between England & France.

He started his LFC career way back in 2021. Konate has won both Carabao Cup and the FA cup in his debut season while playing for The Reds.

Konate’s love for the Merseyside giants is quite visible in his actions on and off the pitch. While he also shares a special bond with his teammate and English full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

While asking him about who could with the 22nd edition of the tournament, the French international said

“I want to say France but then you’re going to use that against us! It’s difficult, there can be so many surprises,”

said Konate.

“If I have to choose one, it will be France, or a team with Liverpool players.”

Konate reveals Trent’s message ahead of England vs France clash

“This rivalry has existed for a long time, in U16 I played England and it was a different match.”

said Konate.

The bromance between him and Arnold is eye-catching. Ibrahima also said

“Alexander-Arnold sent me a message saying ‘see you Saturday my brother’s because I am very close to him.”

This season Trent was much into criticism for his defensive awareness but time and time again Konate stood for him. He believes the English right back is the best in the world it’s just a matter of time before he comes back to his usual form.

The Frenchman is looking in good form in the World Cup so far. World wide Liverpool fans want to see him deliver his best at Anfield. Konate’s form will be crucial for keeping Klopp’s team’s top 4 hopes alive. However, The Red’s back line has been under fierce criticism from the start of this year’s Premiere League season.

Konate has a reputation as one of the best young center-backs in the World at the moment. Last year he was a key player to take Klopp’s team to the Champions League final. This year he aims to win it with his English brother Arnold.

While Ibrahima believes that France will be able to take back the Cup home. Although he has a soft place for his English brothers.

However, this will be the 3rd World Cup meeting between England & France with The Three Lions winning both of the previous two battles. It will be interesting to see if France can pull out a double or is it finally coming home for England.
