Liverpool are going to face giants Manchester City for their next EPL fixture, and Klopp will make some massive calls.

This weekend’s matchup between Liverpool and Manchester City is the most important in English football.

At Anfield, the two Premier League juggernauts square off. City is looking to solidify its place near the top. And Liverpool is aware that they must win in order even to have a chance of catching up later on.

Jurgen Klopp must make some critical decisions because of the numerous injuries he must deal with. According to the Mirror, One of those crucial decisions is the selection of Joe Gomez at right back. Here, Klopp is likely to start the 25-year-old in place of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Gomez made significant contributions to Liverpool’s 7-1 rout of Rangers during the previous week and also gave Bobby Firmino a standout assist. Coincidentally, that assist was Trent-like and proved his full potential in the attacking third to Klopp. His performance at Ibrox was dubbed “unbelievable” by Kris Boyd.

Gomez will know that opponents like Phil Foden and Joao Cancelo will present a considerably stricter challenge than Tuesday.

Gomez has only played 45 minutes over the past four Premier League games. And he will have to be at the top of his form to stop City.

Gomez has been patiently waiting for a regular opportunity with Liverpool. And he now appears ready to be given a run at a position he is known for playing as a youth player.

Gomez has had to wait due to Liverpool’s superior center-backs. And there were rumors in the summer that he would even be leaving. He stuck, though, and is now poised to benefit.

Gomez will give Liverpool the defensive consistency Jurgen Klopp desires. And the Reds will need that stability against City if they are to have any hope of winning.
