As per reports, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has made ‘contact’ with Antonio Rudiger in order to sign him from the Spanish capital.
Rudiger joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2022 for free from Chelsea. He joined them as a Champions League winner with Chelsea and went on to win the UEFA Super Cup with Real Madrid when he arrived.
The German joined the Blues in 2017 from the Serie A outfit, AS Roma for £29m. He went on to play for the London team over 200 times and established himself as one of the league’s best defenders.
He helped the Blues win the Champions League, Europa League, and FA Cup. This earned him a transfer to the Spanish capital where he has made over 40 appearances.
However, it was claimed last month that Liverpool are going to be in the market for a new center-back. Moreover, it was claimed that they intend to make at least five signings. This is due to the worrying form of their current defenders in Konate and Van Dijk.
Antonio Rudiger approached by Klopp
As per the Spanish outlet Nacional, Liverpool have asked Perez if he is willing to negotiate an unexpected sale’ of Rudiger this summer.
It was stated that the German ‘starred in another disastrous performance’ as Real Madrid were beaten by Real Sociedad. And due to showings like this, the defender is ‘far from meeting expectations
It is evident that the 30-year-old is not the first choice for Ancelotti but it is said that Madrid haven’t given up on him. But also, there is an indication that they would study the offers that the club would receive for the player.
In the report, Liverpool are the only club mentioned as a possible destination for the ex-Chelsea man. Klopp is said to be pursuing again for the failed target when he rejected Liverpool for Los Blancos.
The Liverpool boss has ‘contacted’ Rudiger to discover if he would ‘consider’ a return to the Premier League. Moreover, he has guaranteed the defender a key role.
The Reds would surely pursue the player if Real Madrid are willing to settle at a reasonable price. Moreover, the player seems to be interested to be working under Klopp. He has fallen out of the pecking order and would love a more regular first-team action.
The report said that the PL club would not go far for the player who is 30 years old. Also, they would be willing to get the player for a price of around £40m.
