Jurgen Klopp’s press conference ahead of Man United clash

The Reds boss spoke about injuries and Keita-Bellingham rumours in Klopp’s press conference ahead of his trip to Manchester United about his players and injuries.

Liverpool boss spoke to the press ahead of his team’s trip to Old Trafford on Monday. The Reds will face Manchester United in the Premier League Matchday 3. The Red Devils are currently at the bottom of the table in the 20th position after losing both games under their new manager Erik ten Hag.

Liverpool conceded first in both games and they came back equalising and finished both their games in a draw. Both the teams will be eyeing a win this weekend as it is a crucial three points for the two biggest clubs in English football.

5 key things from Klopp’s United Press Conference

Klopp’s say on players who are available and who are not for the game

There are a lot of outs, at least ten players,

Bobby has trained completely normally and is ready.

It is an opportunity. He only came back to team training on Sunday from a little issue. Nat Phillips played a really good game against Palace. Joe is back, he will start and it’s a big opportunity.”

As for Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones, “they are getting closer, but no chance for this game.”

Liverpool have ten players on the Injury list who won’t be available for the clash against United. Thiago, Caoimhin Kelleher, Ibrahima Konate, Joel Matip. Calvin Ramsay, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Diego Jota, Curtis Jones and Kaide Gordon are all unavailable due to injury. While Darwin Nunez is suspended.

Klopp on Naby Keita’s news

Naby Keita’s name has been linked with exit rumours in recent days, claiming he was unhappy with his situation at Anfield. Certainly, fans were anticipating a trade with Borussia Dortmund for Jude Bellingham in exchange for Naby Keita and money on Twitter. The Boss answers the Speculations

“I have to respond on ‘news’ but if you learn on my side . He was ill, now he is in training and looking good. Not a player overly happy when he’s not playing, but all fine.”

Update on Nunez

The boss gave an update on Darvin Nunez who saw red on Monday night after a clash against Palace defender. Moreover, it is a huge blow for the player and for Liverpool amid a long injuries list.

“Of course we spoke to Darwin, he is very disappointed with himself. The things the centre-half did, he won’t be the only player doing these things. It’s about emotions, of course we’ve never had a situation like this. He knew it’s a mistake”

A pop from the boss

Klopp was listening to his radio on his drive back home on Sunday and heard Agbonlahor criticising Man United. But the boss has his say on the Striker’s criticism

“It was not a nice week for United after Brentford. We forget how good Brentford are. I watched the first half and then radio, talkSPORT. Gabby Agbonlahor…I was close to calling it! He wasn’t a mentality monster when we beat Villa 6-0.

The Reds defeated Aston Villa 6 – 0 in Jurgen Klopp’s initial days as Liverpool’s boss.

Liverpool needs to work on their performance

The Boss is not happy with the Red’s current performance in the new season. He stated

We weren’t happy with Fulham’s performance, Palace was really good but special because of the red card. Can’t remember seeing 10v11 where 10 put them under pressure so much. We did well. We want results and they help but we need performances to work with. We want results obviously, but it is about the performance levels as well.

And now it’s time when Erik Ten Hag meets Jurgen Klopp as the Reds lock horns with the Red Devils.
