Defender Ibrahima Konate’s injury somewhat brings concern all over the club. The Frenchman went down twice in quick succession on Sunday’s tie before limping off after some lengthy treatment. Later, he was replaced by Sepp van den Berg.

Updating about Konate’s injury, Liverpool boss Klopp says:

We don’t know exactly yet on (Konate), but it doesn’t look too concerning so I hope we caught it in the right moment

Moreover, he also stated updates on Keita and Jones, who were ruled out for the Strasbourg game.

Naby is ill and Curtis felt something a little bit and we couldn’t take any risks. All of a sudden the team was really young and we play a really strong Strasbourg side.

Speaking about Konate, it is utterly disappointing to see the 23-year-old defender pick up an injury with the new season just before a week. Besides, Keita’s illness and Jones’s injury couldn’t have been timed any worse.

Liverpool will start their Premier League campaign on August 6, Saturday with a trip to Craven Cottage against newly promoted side Fulham. It will be intriguing to see if the newcomer Fabio Carvalho will be given a nod to perform against his former club.
