Fresh photos from Anfield have just arrived of the renovation of the stadium and they are quite a sight. The work is expected to be finished before August 12.
The renovation for stadium expansion has already begun as soon as the season got over. Anfield is set to host a total number of 61,015 fans in the upcoming season.
The season being over and all the transfer rumours kicking in, the photos of the renovation are quite exciting to look at.
Anfield Stadium is going through a renovation before the new season
According to photos via This Is Anfield, two 500-tonne cranes have started the construction work. They have successfully removed half of the Anfield Road Stand roof. The other half will be removed later this week.
The removed sections are currently placed on the protected pitch of Anfield and will be cut into smaller pieces. Then they will be removed via the Kop corner.
When talking about the renovation, Liverpool FC’s vice-president of stadium operations Paul Cuttill stated,
“We are on track and on budget…
The progress has gone really well and we’re due to complete by the end of July, with a view to being ready for the first home game of the 2023-24 season. We’ve asked for the first game to be away, which will mean the first home game is August 19 or 20. It just means we have the best possible chance to make sure the stadium is ready, that we have had test events which are licensed and good to go.”
Work on the exterior brickwall painting has also begun. While inside, teams of the crew are working on the interiors for hospitality and amenities for supporters.
There will be no more obstructed view from Lower Anfield Road. It will stay connected with the new stand. The newly expanded stand will hold 15,967 Kopites.
Although the increased ticket prices are a thing of concern, the renovated Anfield will be able to cater to a greater number of fans.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
