After being impressed by the French wonderkid’s performances, Liverpool now wants to sign Bradley Barcola from Lyon.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds, and other top European clubs are keeping an eye on the 20-year-old.
After making it into Laurent Blanc’s starting XI, Barcola has burst onto the scene this season.
In his 25 appearances for Lyon thus far this season, the 20-year-old has scored seven goals and contributed four assists. This includes the winning strike in a 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday, 2nd April.
Lyon wonderkid Bradley Barcola on Liverpool radar reports Fabrizio Romano
Fabrizio Romano is one of the most reliable sources to be trusted and he reports that Liverpool have sent out scouts to keep an eye on Barcola.
When Liverpool played Lyon in a friendly match during the World Cup break in December, Jurgen Klopp was able to get a close-up look at the French star.
In fact, Barcola scored as Lyon defeated the Reds by a score line of three goals to one. The remaining two goals were scored by Alexandre Lacazette.
Many Liverpool fans may be feeling disappointed about recruitment plans at Anfield right now, as the Times believes a move for Jude Bellingham has been ruled out.
Despite that, supporters should still be excited by links to Barcola, as he can play anywhere in the front line.
The Lyon-born wonderkid looks set to become a star in the future. Also, clubs of Liverpool’s size should eat up possibilities like this before they become £80m jewels.
Naturally, there will be those who argue that Klopp does not require a new forward. However, a lot can change very quickly in football.
Liverpool should look to secure a deal before loaning Barcola back to Lyon until they need him. This seems to be one of the potential deals that the Reds will look to complete this summer.
