Fabio Carvalho was Liverpool‘s first signing of the summer. And he has revealed his lofty goals after transferring from Fulham, saying he wants to be the best in the world.

Fabio Carvalho’s transfer in met with no doubts. The new no. 28 Klopp’s team for a deal that could go up to £7.7 million.

When he was 11 he immigrated to England from Portugal. He talked beautifully during his first interview with LFCTV, with one distinct phrase standing out.

Carvalho is a promising potential who joins Liverpool with the goal of becoming the best player in the world.

Fabio Carvalho’s first LFCTV interview

He said in the interview:

“I feel like to be the best player in the world, you have to play with the best. That’s what I’m here to do.”

Assisting the offensive midfielder in his quest for greatness is Klopp himself. And Carvalho claims he was a major factor in his choice to join the team.

“One of the main reasons that I joined is because of him. I’ve seen what he’s done to develop players to the next step and I’m sure he’s the right person to do so with me.”

It’s uncertain whether Carvalho will assume a regular starting position right away because it’s unusual for new recruits to get on to Klopp’s system so soon.

However, the Portuguese player hopes to learn everything he can from his elite teammates when preseason officially begins on Monday.

Carvalho added:

“There are some big names and I’m looking to make a big name for myself as well. There are big players and I’m just looking forward to learning from every single one of them, from their different experiences. I think they will be able to help me and hopefully, I’ll be able to help them.”

He also expressed his happiness about Salah’s new deal:

I’m happy he’s signed a new deal as well because he’s one of the best in the world and I want to learn from him. I’m sure all the fans are happy and hopefully, we can win many trophies this year. And My target is to To win as many trophies as I can at Liverpool and be the best in the world.”

Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah, who recently signed a new three-year contract to become the club’s highest-ever earner after establishing himself as one of the all-time greats, will be among those making a return later in the week.

To conclude, Carvalho outlined his goals for the future, saying, “To win as many titles at Liverpool as I can and be the best in the world.”
