The Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba has sent a message to Mohamed Salah on Twitter after Liverpool came back to win against Crystal Palace yesterday.
The Egyptian attacker made history as Liverpool scored twice in the last 15 minutes to snatch all 3 points again. The Reds trailed 1-0 to the Eagles till the 75th minute until Salah scored his 200th goal to equalise.
Later on, Harvey Elliot scored from outside the box to win the game for Klopp’s men. Currently, after Arsenal’s loss to Aston Villa, the Reds sit on top of the table, a point ahead.
Congratulating him was the former Ivory Coast international, Didier Drogba. He lauded the 31-year-old for his milestone goal as he predicted 6 years ago that Salah would succeed at Liverpool.
Drogba congratulates Salah after milestone goal for Liverpool
Klopp brought in Salah from Roma for a fee of £34m and he has proved to be worth every penny spent. The winger has been consistently the top scorer in the Prem for the Merseysiders. He won the Golden Boot in his first two seasons with the Reds.
Last season, with the brilliant Haaland running away with the golden boot, Salah was 4th on the list. He had 19 goals to his name and was still Liverpool’s top scorer. However, this time he has 11 goals and sits behind Haaland in the list.
He formed a formidable trio with Firmino and Mane and won everything with the Reds. His amazing performance in 17/18 saw him become a household name and has since become a legend at Anfield.
The Liverpool winger has been a revelation ever since signing for Jurgen Klopp’s side in 2017. Moreover, he has only gone from strength to strength on Merseyside with the Premier League side.
And Salah is now nothing short of a legend at Liverpool, with the attacker’s reputation as one of the greatest and most respected that any player has had in recent years with the club. His consistency is frightening and he rarely ever has a bad game or goes goalless in a game.
However, with the Saudi speculations going around every day, this might be his final season at Anfield. Nevertheless, the Egyptian will depart an Anfield legend with many fans holding a special place for the attacker.
