“Contract talks should begin this week” says Fabrizio Romano on three Liverpool players

“Liverpool will begin contract talks this week with Van Dijk, Salah, and Trent” says Fabrizio Romano as all three players only have one more year left on their contracts.

New contracts for Virgil Van Dijk, Mohammed Salah and Alexander Arnold should be a priority for the club as all three players are attracting interest from other clubs

Contract talks with Van Dijk, Trent and Salah

Fabrizio Romano told The Debrief podcast

“At the moment it’s really quiet, this week with Arne Slot coming in at Liverpool and starting all the meetings with the directors they will start the real strategy and they will prepare for the summer transfer window and the contract situations to be clarified

At the moment, all these players are waiting to start conversations with Liverpool. I think it will be this week that they start having contact with the club to clarify their contract situation

At the moment, it’s really quiet. These players are not forcing to leave the club so far. Liverpool are waiting to have direct contact”

Fabrizio also added that Alisson who has a long-term contract will stay at the club this season despite interest from Saudi.

Trent Alexander Arnold has interest from Real Madrid, and it is reported they are monitoring Trent’s situation at Liverpool

Salah also is attracting interest from Saudi and other clubs. Liverpool received bids from Saudi clubs for Salah last summer

These are Liverpool’s elite players and losing them for free will be a massive blow for the club. Extending the contracts of these players will be huge for the club’s future and it will be a good start to the transfer window.
