On 24th December 2021, Liverpool training centre AXA welcomed familiar faces back to training. With the Leeds united game postponed due to the Whites not having enough players, giving Liverpool players enough time to recover.

With two crucial away games around the corner after which Salah, Mane, and Keita are expected to miss the other fixtures in the month of January due to AFCON.

Liverpool needs the remaining squad to fill in for the absence of their African trio (Salah, Mane, & Keita). However, the Reds don’t have solid wingers to fill their void shoes. And the least they wanna see is injures and Covid cases. The Reds midfield department struggled in their last Premier League match with Covid positive cases and injuries, which kept van Dijk and Fabinho out for the Reds previous clash.

Good news for Liverpool as 3 First-team players return to Training

On Christmas eve, Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, Curtis Jones all were spotted in the training. All three were affected by the club’s recent COVID-19 cluster, with Thiago also forced into self-isolation after being tested positive.

Jones is also dealing with an eye injury currently but was spotted at AXA training centre. With Leeds United game postponed, the Reds got enough time to rest their players. And thus, now they are back training again with the first team.

It is believed that these players would be available for the away game against the Foxes on 29th December. Thiago is still in self Isolation and Andy Robertson will miss due to suspension. Liverpool are hoping that Salah, Mane, and Keita can stay as long as possible.

Meanwhile, January is just a few days away meaning the transfer window is open again and Liverpool fans are hoping to have a very good first month of the new year. With the transfer window opening and players leaving for AFCON, fans are excited to see what will unfold this January.

It is really a good sight to see players getting back from Injuries and Covid. The round of 16 in the Champions League, facing the Gunners in the carabao cup semifinals and the fourth round in the FA cup all awaits in the new year’s initial months.
