Liverpool Legends begin their training as they take on Celtic Legends at Anfield on Saturday afternoon to raise money for the Reds’ official club charity. Even though it is an international break, Anfield would see some action this weekend.

The Liverpool legends host the Celtic legends for a charity event, this weekend. As a result, Liverpool stars from yesteryear were spotted at the AXA training centre on Friday. They were in for final training sessions and media duties as they are set to roll back the years in a Liverpool shirt.

Before the training, the legends were at the press conference and according to Echo, they were being interviewed. In a lighter moment, Martin Skrtel walked past the camera and was completely unaware of the video camera.

In another incident, John Barnes seemed lost in the AXA training centre while he asked the media personnel where the pitch was to be able to get in time for training.

Barnes is a Reds legend and has made 407 appearances while scoring 108 times. He also won two titles, two FA cups, a League cup and also captained the side in his 10-year tenure.

Even though the former Reds has hung up his boots, he is still a part of the backroom staff, having taken on an assistant manager role.

Another popular dressing-room figure in his Liverpool days was the Polish keeper, Dudek. The ex-Polish keeper was interviewed and later joined the squad for the training session.

Furthermore, Liverpool have named a 20-man squad for Saturday’s game but there were still players missing. The Reds legend Steven Gerrard was missing as he was on media duties for the England game, the previous night. Meanwhile, Charlie Adam and Djibril Cisse were also absent as they were unable to make the training. Meanwhile, Luis Garcia was forced to miss out after being delayed.

However, all four former players are still expected to feature on Saturday against Celtic.

Finally, another Reds legend made his way to the training centre along with a former boss. Sir Kenny Dalglish remains as the manager for the Saturday game and was joined by Rafa Benitez.

Altogether, it was a wholesome session and is to be seen whether the Reds legends would come out on top.
