Ibrahim Sangare to Liverpool

According to 90min, Liverpool have been offered a chance to sign the Ivorian, Ibrahim Sangare, as the midfielder is set to leave PSV, this summer.

It has been rumoured that the Reds have been tracking the Ivorian for a while now. Moreover, the 25-year-old was linked to a move to England last season. Instead, he signed a new five-year contract in Eindhoven, committing himself to the club till 2027.

According to sources, his deal includes a €37m release clause, and the midfielder is now open to play in England. The Eredivisie club is also open to selling the Ivorian, while the only concern being his high market value.

Moreover, the midfielder’s agent has also offered him to a number of PL clubs.

West Ham are said to be one of the clubs interested as they look to replace Declan Rice, who is said to be eventually leaving the Hammers. But, Ibrahim Sangare is understood to be interested in a regular top 6 club.

However, the 25-year-old has suitors from the higher end of the table as well including Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham. These clubs have been alerted by the midfielder’s agents and are known to be ‘admirers’ of the Ivorian.

Ibrahim Sangare: Right man for Liverpool?

It’s likely that Sangare is one of the players on Liverpool’s long list of potential midfield options this summer. The Ivory Coast international has been subject to reports of interest from the Reds for ages.

At less than £33m, he wouldn’t break the bank for Liverpool and would add a certain amount of steel to the side.

However, Klopp needs a PL-ready or proven midfielder while Sangare plays his trade in the Eredivisie, at 25. This could be a wrong assumption but given the scarcity of first-team players in the middle of the park for the Reds in the next season, they couldn’t afford to experiment if they are to be challenging for the title.

Klopp is looking at a midfield overhaul and would need players who could hit the ground running immediately. The incoming players wouldn’t have the luxury of settling in Anfield and starting slowly.

Players who have proven themselves on the bigger stage like Mason Mount and Jude Bellingham, are the midfielders to be brought to Anfield.

However, the Ivorian could add something to the Liverpool midfield and also could be a bargain for his price.

Ibrahim Sangare has played for the Eredivisie club 125 times and has 12 goals and 9 assists to his name.

Hence, it is to be seen where the Ivorian would end up in the next season.
