Alberto Moreno has sent a “special” message to the Liverpool fans as his Villarreal side knocked Bayern Munich out of the Champions League.

Villarreal beat Bayern Munich 2-1 on the aggregate in the Champions League Quarterfinals.

Alberto Moreno posts message to Liverpool supporters

Former Liverpool star Alberto Moreno was seen celebrating his team’s huge win over the German giants on Instagram. Consequently, few Reds fans were commenting on Moreno’s post. Meanwhile, the Spaniard replied to them with four words.

This message probably indicated that Villarreal could face Liverpool after the latter are leading ahead of the second leg. Liverpool is most likely to qualify for the Semi-Finals, currently having a 3-1 advantage over Benfica.

Moreno has also commented on a Liverpool fan page congratulating him through social media, he replied “See you soon Anfield”.

The Spanish International who plays as a Left-Back has represented Liverpool for over a hundred games in his 5-year tenure.

Although the player won’t be involved in the Villarreal game, as he’s ruled out with an ACL injury, that doesn’t curb his “excitement”.

Villarreal’s Solid performance

Villarreal overcame the Munich challenge by winning the first leg with a single goal margin and drew 1-1 the next game.

The Yellow Submarine have equaled their best performance at the Champions League by reaching the Semi-Finals, like the 2005-06 season.

Unai Emery who led Villarreal to Europa League success last year seems confident about his side’s chances.

The Villarreal manager went on to say,

We will focus on our Semi-Final, whether it will be against Liverpool, ‘the favorites’ or Benfica

He also added that the club has a big trajectory planned ahead

If Liverpool qualifies, Villarreal’s manager will once again return to the PL facing old rivals from his ‘Arsenal’ time, meanwhile, Moreno would be ecstatic to return to Anfield.
