Liverpool will find their group stage opponents on Thursday, as pots for the 2022-23 Champions League group stage draw have been ready.

The draw will take place in Istanbul, Turkey on Thursday as pots for the upcoming Champions League group stage has been confirmed. The 32 teams will be split into eight groups of four.

For the upcoming season of the Champions League, 26 teams qualified automatically for the Champions League group stage by means of their league positions last season. While 6 other teams booked their places via play-offs.

On Wednesday evening, teams such as Dinamo Zagreb, FC Copenhagen, and Rangers secured the final three places to complete the pot.

Meanwhile, Liverpool who narrowly missed out on being the European champions last season will be eyeing to turn around things this time. Moreover, the final in Istanbul makes it more special and nostalgic for Liverpool.

Last season when Liverpool lost to Real Madrid in the Paris final, Jurgen Klopp expressed his team is adamant to reach the Istanbul final this season. The Liverpool boss told the supporters to “book the hotel”.

The final in Istanbul makes it extra special, given the history of the club in “The City on Seven Hills”.
