Virgil van Dijk breaks exciting Liverpool news he’s heard inside the club

Klopp and Virgil Van Dijk

Liverpool star defender Virgil van Dijk has revealed a piece of exciting news about the Merseyside giants.

After competing for a quadruple last season the Reds standards have now fallen to ground level and they are far away from the Liverpool we have seen in the Jurgen Klopp era. The former Premier League champions are currently sitting in the seventh position of the points table. Moreover, they are on the verge of facing early elimination from the Champions League, after facing a humiliating 5-2 defeat at Anfield.

This season has put a lot of questions on squad depth, players’ consistency, and also on Jurgen Klopp’s tactics. Despite extending for two years, reports have suggested that the English club could look for other options as a head coach.

The German boss has built this team from scratch and it will be a foolish decision if FSG thinks to replace Klopp after just one bad season.

The Red’s star defender Virgil Van Dijk addressed these rumors in an interview with Sky Germany.

Virgil van Dijk on latest Liverpool news

When he was asked whether the German is going to continue next season or not, the Holland international said

“Of course!

Jurgen Klopp is the boss and that doesn’t change. I am very happy with him. He is very happy at Liverpool.”

He further added

“Hopefully better times are coming again. That’s we are working for.”

The Netherlands captain is one of the influential people in the dressing room. He was named in the FIFPRO’s Men’s World 11 2022 alongside last year’s Premier League champions Man City’s Kevin de Bruyne, Erling Haaland, Joao Cancelo, and Manchester United’s new signing Casemiro.

Van Dijk had recently been sidelined due to a hamstring injury. The Dutchman has only played 19 matches in the Premier League this season so far. His absence has created a hole in the Merseyside club’s defense which is very much alarming.

But his latest revelation has definitely created hope in Liverpool fans, now it’s just a matter of time before Klopp’s new era begins.
