Harry Redknapp has allegedly heard from a very good source close to Bellingham that he has his heart on Real Madrid over Liverpool.
The Reds decided to pull out of the race for their long time midfield target. It now seems that the player has set his heart on Real Madrid.
The former England manager told in a recent podcast that Bellingham would prefer a move to Spain.
“I think he’s amazing you know, but I think he wants to go to Real Madrid, that’s what I’ve heard from a very, very good source close to him.
I’ve heard he wants to go to Real Madrid, Liverpool seem to have dropped out of the race, so that leaves Man City, maybe Chelsea, but the rumour is Real Madrid is where he wants to go.“
It would be no surprise that any budding footballer would choose Real Madrid, when they come calling. An offer from the 14 time UCL winners is surely intriguing for any player, let alone a youngster.
Would Bellingham choose Liverpool or Madrid?
It has been reported that the player’s family wants him to return to England. Also, they would want the player to make his mark in the Premier League.
While there are interests from top PL clubs like Man City, Chelsea, Man Utd, Bellingham was long linked to Liverpool. It was rumoured that the Reds were the frontrunners in the deal. But recently, they decided to pull out of the race to sign the 19-year-old.
But with Klopp looking at a midfield overhaul for the next season, Jude would have been a perfect fit at Anfield. He would have been a regular starter with both Chamberlain and Keita set to leave Merseyside this summer.
However, it would not be the case at Madrid as the veterans Kroos and Modric are set to stay for another year. Also, it wouldn’t help for the fact that Camavinga and Tchouameni have been in pretty good form recently.
But also, the midfielder would learn a lot under the guidance of one-of-the-best midfielders, Luka Modric. This would only maximise his development as a young player going forward.
