Porto vs Liverpool – Player Ratings
GoalKepeer & Defenders
Alisson Becker (GK) – 7.5/10
It could be considered as a day off for the Brazilian as didn’t had to do much on the night. Although he was sharp to save a shot after an hour mark bending low on his left side. Overall a decent performance.
James Milner (RB) – 8/10
The Englishmen never gets old. What a beautiful ball into the box for Liverpool’s 2nd goal on the night.
Meanwhile, speaking about the defensive aspect, Milner did quite well to cope up with the pace of Diaz. While making some really good tackles in the initial half of the game.
Joel Matip (CB) – 7/10
Played a mature game. Matip was up to his task winning some balls back for his team in the initial half. Overall a decent performance by the ex-Cameroonian.
Virgil van Dijk (CB) – 7/10
The Dutchmen didn’t really had to do much as the Porto attackers never really tried to get in front of him. Thus, it was more of a disciplined performance rather than a defending one.
Andy Robertson (LB) – 7.5/10
The Scottish international is always full of energy. Robbo made some really nice runs forward and was never found off his position in the backline as well. However, he still lacks that quality in the crosses.
Meanwhile, one really good cutback for Jota after the first half.
Midfield
Fabinho (CDM) – 8.5/10
A really good performance by the Brazilian. Looked sharp in the midfield never let the Porto attackers to complete their move. Meanwhile, the defensive midfielder won 25 fouls for his team (while only 50% of which could really be considered as a foul).
Dominating the midfield, Fabinho had a really good game as he usually does.
Jordan Henderson (CM) – 6.5/10
Apart from a decent strike from the free-kick in the initial half, the Captain was missing on his passing boots. Moreover, the Englishman was not sharp enough to get back to his positions and thus was very late tracking back.
Meanwhile, Diaz always found better of Hendo as he never looked in a position to mark his man.
Curtis Jones (CM) – 9/10 [Man of the Match]
The youngster looks really impressive. No doubt why Jurgen Klopp plays him back to back games. Jones was really good with his moments. Kept the ball moving around quickly. Always made his presence felt in the game.
Meanwhile, he was always quick to win back ball for his team and closing down on the Porto players, who completely lost the midfield battle. Registering two assists to his name to finish the game in style.
Forward
Mohamed Salah (RW) – 8.5/10
He is Liverpool’s scoring machine. The Egyptian is always keen on getting himself on the scoresheet. A stinging performance in the front line.
Did exceptionally well to get 2 goals to his name even without being the best men on the pitch.
Diogo Jota (ST) – 6/10
The Portuguese missed on either side of the half. was never able to sort his feet quickly in the box. Thus, Liverpool could have made it 7 goals on the night if he would have tucked in his easy chances.
Did a lot of running but forgot to wear his shooting boots.
Sadio Mane (LW) – 7/10
Did really good in controlling the ball from long passes. However, the Senegal forward was yet again somewhat off in both the weight and timing of his passes.
While Mane did well to keep himself onside to tap in from a pitch-perfect ball deliver into the box by Milner.

Roberto Firmino (65th Min.) – 9/10
The Brazilian came in place of Mane and was on for only approx 25 minutes but did exceptionally well to give himself 2 goals. Overall a really impressive performance by bobby.
Takumi Minamino (65th Min.) – 7/10
The Japanese came in for the Egyptian for Liverpool and did well to break down the play by winning some crucial fouls against the midfield players of Porto.

Came in place of the Captain. Didn’t got enough chances to make any kind of impact on the game. but did well to keep the position.
