Saint-Maximin arrived in Premier League in 2019 after his 16 million move from OGC Nice to Newcastle. Currently, Newcastle are sitting just above the relegation zone in the table, Saint-Maximin has been the only bright spotlight for the Magpies. Thus, Jurgen Klopp Is galvanized to bring Saint-Maximin to Liverpool.

Saint-Maximin’s excellent form in the season has caught the eyes of the Premier League’s biggest giants. According to Italian citation Calciomercato, both Liverpool and Chelsea are keen on the Newcastle winger.

Some reports also suggest Everton is also keen on signing Saint-Maximin, but Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel are rumoured to hold on a tight grip on the Frenchman.

Is Saint-Maximin, the one who Liverpool needs ?

The Reds lack depth in attacking options in the team, with not-so-consistent Origi and Minamino as backup options. The squad heavily relies on Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane for goals, with Firmino’s form a cause of concern.

Capable of playing also as an attacking midfielder, Saint-Maximin would benefit from playing for a top club. A manager like Jurgen Klopp would surely adore having the Frenchman in the squad for his work rate off the ball.

The tricky winger has contributed with two goals and three assists in six games for the Magpies. But his sparkling runs and trickery with an insatiable appetite for the game have caught the eyes of many.

His spookiness to past defenders with ease in the opposition penalty box will please Klopp. Against teams who sit deep against Liverpool, Saint-Maximin can be a lethal option for the Reds boss.

Recently, in a home game against Leeds United, Saint-Maximin impressed with a beautiful finish. Moreover, he also managed four shots on target. If this level of performance keeps coming from the Frenchman, the biggest clubs in England would be knocking on Newcastle’s door.

The famous front three of Liverpool, not that consistent as they were a couple of seasons back and approaching thirty. An addition like Saint-Maximin will provide good and healthy competition for the starting places. Moreover, he will also improve the overall squad and thus would provide more options in the attacking department.
