The two European giants, Liverpool and AC Milan met for the first time in mighty San Siro. It was the final group stage clash of group B in the Champions League. Let’s have a look at the match highlights, how Liverpool registered a record-breaking win over AC Milan.

Liverpool had already qualified for the knockout stages and were comfortably sitting at the top of the table. Thus, Jurgen Klopp decided to give some rest to the tired players and put on a so-called B team on the night to face Milan. The kick-off saw an intense battle from the Italian club. While the Reds were showing patience to settle down in the game. The Rossoneri found the back of the neet at the brink of 28 minutes into the game from a corner. Thus, Liverpool were never going to call it a dead rubber and they fought back with a record-breaking goal from Salah.

This lead to a tie in the first half as the whistle blew with the scoreline reflecting as 1-1.

Match Highlights: AC Milan v Liverpool

The second half began with Liverpool’s domination in the game. Thus, this eventually resulted in a goal for the ‘legend’ Divock Origi from a rebound shot of Sadio Mane. However, Alisson did make some very good saves on the night to keep Milan out of the contention. With this, the red hot Reds became the first English team ever to win all the 6 games of the Champions League group stage. Thus, to sum up the fixture we can call it as a record-breaking win and a record-breaking goal for Liverpool and Mo Salah respectively.

Next up for Liverpool is a reunion with Steven Gerrard. Anfield awaits the Liverpool legend’s welcome back and Jurgen Klopp prepares his troops to face the Villans.
