A huge boost for Liverpool as the club’s no 9 Roberto Firmino is back in training ahead of the Aston Villa meet on Saturday. The Brazilian picked up a nasty hamstring injury during Liverpool’s clash with Atletico Madrid in Anfield in early November.

With Firmino back in training, he is now in contention for the most anticipated Villa game which also marks Reds Legend, Gerrard’s return to Anfield.

During his absence from the first-team action due to injury, Liverpool have played seven games domestically and in Europe. Apart from defeat to West Ham at London, Klopp’s men haven’t missed him much with Jota grabbing the opportunity to lead the attack.

The Portuguese is in superb form in front of the goal along with Salah and Mane. Meanwhile, Divock Origi has also chipped in good performances recently.

However, Firmino has returned in the nick of time with the busy and packed fixture schedule. Klopp will want all his players to be fit and match-ready when called upon.

Roberto Firmino’s return to training has brought delight to all Liverpool teammates. As Klopp initially claimed the injury was “not good”. And it was thought earlier that the 30-year-old will be out for a lengthy spell.

Along with Firmino, Joe Gomez and Naby Keita also took part in Kirby training after recovering from their respective injuries.

When could Firmino be back in the starting XI for Liverpool, will it be against Villa ?

It’s good to see Roberto Firmino back in training. Prior to his injury, the no. 9 was in good touch where he scored four goals and assisted once in eight Premier League games he played so far.

As per FotMob, the Brazilian has registered an average match point of 7.07 in the Premier League.

But Aston Villa’s game on the weekend seems too early for Firmino. As he has just recovered after being sidelined by a hamstring problem for more than a month.

Being named for the matchday squad on Saturday will be a big boost for the Brazilian. And we have to wait and see if Klopp thinks of giving him a few minutes to come off the bench.
