Thiago Injury: Midfielder pulls out from Nation League fixtures

Thiago was going to represent Spain for the first time since the Euros but Injury forced him to withdraw from the fixtures. This injury is an extension of what he suffered in the final EPL matchday against Wolves.

UEFA Nations League is back. Teams will compete again in this glorified friendly competition.

France are the defending champions.

And with nations like Belgium, Portugal, Germany, and Spain looking to take the crown away from the World Champions.

This Edition would be more exciting than the previous editions as Players have realized the competition’s value. As it provides an opportunity to win an important, major silverware for the country.

But it is also forcing players to fatigue. With many players like Kevin De Bryune and Toni Kroos complaining against the competition. As UEFA is not even considering Players’ conditions after a long season. And making them play this competition for the sake of more revenue.

Thiago faces an Achilles injury

Spaniard suffered an injury in the final matchday against Wolves.

This injury even posed questions of whether he will be available for the UCL final or not.

Moreover, he even was in discomfort during the warm-up. Which led people to believe maybe Keita will start ahead of him.

Nevertheless, he did start. He played 77 minutes for the Club in a 1-0 losing effort.

His presence in the match may have made Enrique believe the Maestro will be available for Spain.

But the federation has recently announced that the 31-year-old will not be playing the June fixtures.

This absence is due to a “muscle injury to the back of his right leg.”

Spain will play 4 UEFA Nation League fixtures in June.

They will play Portugal once. Switzerland once and The Czech Republic twice.

Spain would be looking to make a statement once again. As the former World Champions have started to show their class.

They were runners-up in the Finals of the Last Edition. Lost out narrowly to France.

Thiago’s last match for his nation was the Euro 2020 semi-final which put an end to a great under-dog run from the side.

The hope currently is that Spaniard takes rest and fully recovers himself and be available for the preseason which starts on the 4th of July.
