Steven Gerrard issues a warning to Man City ahead of the Premier League title decider

Steven Gerrard refuted claims that Man City have more to play for than the Premier League title this weekend.

Steven Gerrard’s men take on Man City

Steven Gerrard has warned Man City ahead of their end-of-season clash with Aston Villa.

The current manager of the West Midlands team is a Liverpool Legend.

He knows that a Villains victory would pave the way for his former club to win the Premier League title.
Villa can finish as high as ninth if results go their way, but they will not be able to qualify for Europe.

When asked if City or Burnley (whom Villa meet on Thursday night) have more to play for than his Villa team, Gerrard quickly dismissed the notion. In his pre-match press conference, he explained:

No they haven’t, no they haven’t (got more to play for). Well, maybe from their point of view but I’m not involved in relegation or a title, am I? I’m the Aston Villa manager. They’re three important points. We’ll have a full house there. We’ve got 20,000 people on a waiting list to come and watch the team. So, it’s my responsibility to win both games. Thank you. We want two positive results. We want to finish as strong as we can and we want to improve our league position. Obviously, they’re going to be two different challenges.

Stevie G further added:

We know that one fighting at the top-end of the league and one at the bottom. We need to prepare for both in the best way that we can. They’re coming within a short space of time so all of my players need to be ready. Because I’ll be very surprised if the team will be the same for both games.

Reds’ only hope

Liverpool beat Southampton on Tuesday to extend the title fight to the final day. But they are still one point behind Manchester City. If Liverpool wants to win the Premier League, they must beat Wolves at home and pray City does not beat Villa.

The former Liverpool captain has a chance to win Liverpool something he couldn’t win as a player. The Premier League Title.

Along with Stevie G, there are more former players who can give back to their former club. That includes Brazillian Magician Phillipe Coutinho and Striker Danny Ings.

The Season is a repeat of 2018-19 for the Liverpool fans who will have their fate in the hands of others. If fate remains at the Reds’ side. Then, They could move on to become the first team to win an English Quadruple.
