With the Europa League winners now crowned, one side of the UEFA Super Cup bracket has been filled. Now, Liverpool knows their potential UEFA Super Cup opponents should they overcome Real Madrid.

The Reds are just nine days away from the Champions League final. And a 7th UCL win in Paris would add to their schedule next season.

The UEFA Super Cup, a match between the Champions League and Europa League champions, is set to take place on August 10 at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium.

If you don’t want to feel ticket rage, ignore this section; the stadium holds only 36,200 people. Thus you can bet that UEFA will issue less than 10,000 tickets to each finalist.

Liverpool’s potential UEFA Super Cup opponent unveiled

The Europa League final between Eintracht Frankfurt and Rangers took place in Seville on Wednesday evening.

After one goal each in the first 90 minutes and a stalemate in extra time, therefore the game went into penalties. And Eintracht Frankfurt was victorious, with Aaron Ramsey the only player to see his effort saved.

The rangers had opened the goal in regular time through Joe Aribo. Before Rafael Santos, Borre Maury equalized to bring the game to extra time.

Kevin Trapp’s world-class stop denied ex-Red Ryan Kent a great chance to win the game in the waning stages of the 120-minute match, thus, forcing penalties.

Eintracht Frankfurt’s victory ends a 42-year wait for their second European trophy. As well as a berth in the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup.

The winner of Liverpool and Real Madrid will face them for the Super Cup. And it’s worth noting that the Reds have won the cup in each of their last three efforts.

Liverpool and Eintracht Frankfurt have only met twice, with the Reds winning 2-0 on aggregate in the UEFA Cup first round in 1972.

However, a third meeting is not on Liverpool’s radar. Because they must first defeat Los Blancos in the European Cup final following seven consecutive cup-winning appearances.
