The Egyptian star, Mo Salah, reportedly wishes of joining the Spanish giants, Real Madrid, as Liverpool’s future is thrown into doubt.

It is reported that Liverpool’s all-time top scorer wants to join the Spanish Giants as his future at Merseyside is in doubt.

The 30-year-old forward has had a wish of joining Los Blancos for quite a while now. And, it seems like the right time for him to make a switch.

Salah joined Liverpool in 2017 from Roma and has been sensational for Klopp’s team. He is currently the club’s top scorer with 178 goals in 293 appearances.

Liverpool have struggled in the ongoing season. They have not been at their best and are fighting for a UEFA Champions League spot. The Merseyside club is currently sixth in the points table, five points behind fifth-placed Newcastle United.

Salah to Madrid – A done deal?

With Sadio Mane having already left the Reds to join Bayern Munich and Firmino leaving at the end of this season, the Egyptian might as well be the next in line in the packing orders, thus bringing an end to an iconic front three that once had their dominance in Europe.

Furthermore, the winger has reportedly always dreamt of playing in La Liga and for the Madrid club in particular.

Moreover, Salah’s trainer during his Roma days talked about the Egypt forward’s dream of playing for the Los Blancos.

“I told him (Salah) that he had to sign for Barcelona and he told me no. That his dream was to play for Real Madrid.”

Even though Liverpool have had an inconsistent season, it has been a fairly decent season for Salah. He has 11 goals in 26 appearances and also 7 assists.

Liverpool are currently 7 points off the Champions League spot and it might be the deciding factor for Salah to make his decision. His current contract runs till 2025 but he might be on the way out if the Reds fail to qualify for CL.

What it means for Madrid?

The Egyptian forward would be a sensational signing for Madrid. His goal-scoring prowess would be crucial for the Spanish team.

Meanwhile, Madrid have been decent this season and are currently in second place in La Liga. They are 12 points off first place and are chasing Barcelona.

Furthermore, the Los Blancos also knocked out the Reds in the UCL round of 16. The European champions will lock horns with Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the competition.

Salah might cost somewhere around €80 to €100 million for Madrid. Also, Madrid are in the chase for ‘€150 million’ rated midfielder, Jude Bellingham, along with Liverpool. It would be interesting to see if Salah would join Real Madrid and it is then when Liverpool makes a move for Bellingham.
