‘Reds preparing proposals to sign a new striker’- Fabrizio Romano

With Mane and Salah’s contract talks stalled. Liverpool fans are worried about who’s going to lead the Reds’ attack in the future. Fabrizio Romano has relieved the fans with his latest reports on Management’s plan of bringing a new striker.

Sadio Mane is definitely leaving Anfield this summer. Bayern are tipped to sign him, after already agreeing to personal terms with the forward. It’s just a matter of time before both the clubs come to an agreement.

Mane’s departure will definitely leave a big hole to fill in the Reds’ forward line. And fans are worried if Management would quickly be able to sign someone for that.

Fabrizio Romano’s Report

Speaking on his here we go podcast Fabrizio reported:

Liverpool fans shouldn’t worry because the plan is to sign one more striker. Luis Diaz is doing fantastic but he is not linked to Sadio Mane’s future. If Sadio Mane leaves the club this summer, Liverpool are preparing proposals to sign a new striker this summer.

This is will be Reds’ biggest move in the market since signing Virgil. Although Whoever replaces Mane will almost certainly not have the same transformative effect as Virgil had when he arrived from Southampton.

Liverpool just have to make sure that the new signing isn’t a drop-off from Mane.

Darwin Nunez, for example, would be wonderful, albeit he, like Diogo Jota, will need to work on his link-up play.

Goals aren’t important to them; what matters is what they can contribute outside of the box.

Signing Christopher Nkunku would be fantastic, but he isn’t a true striker. And Liverpool wants someone to score like Mane. And has his eyes on the goal.

Moreover, there is one more problem with Nkunku. There are doubts about whether he can translate his magnificent form to EPL.

As goes for Nunez. He also is scoring goals in the Portuguese league. And playing in the EPL is a lot harder both physically and mentally.

Nkunku scored 35 goals and added 20 assists for RB Leipzig this season, for a total of 55 goals.

What makes Nkunku standout is that he scored 7 goals and added 2 assists in 6 Champions League outings before Leipzig’s elimination

In the first game of the UCL season, he scored a hat trick against Manchester City, which won 6-3.

This will indeed be an exciting summer for the Reds.
