Tottenham Hotspurs did a double over Manchester City over the weekend, blowing the Premier League title race wide open for Liverpool.

Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Norwich has now cut the difference between the Reds and Man City to six points. Liverpool currently have a game in hand as they play Leeds United on Thursday.

Liverpool can catch up to Man City in Premier League title race

The Reds have 13 games left to play, while Manchester City have 12. Out of these 13 games, seven are at Anfield giving the Reds a big boost.

However, Liverpool are still alive in the FA Cup and in the Champions League. Further progress in these competitions could not only cause fixture congestion but will also postpone a few games.

Out of the remaining games, Liverpool does have some tough ones. They play Arsenal away, Man United at home and a season-defining game against Manchester City on the 9th of April at the Etihad.

Liverpool knows that they have to beat City in the April fixture. If both teams don’t slip till then and after the game, it may just come down to goal difference

The games against Leeds, Everton, Aston Villa and Newscastle are games that Liverpool will look to get maximum points in.

Manchester City on the other hand have six home games and six away games left. They face nine of the same opponents as Liverpool.

Other than the matchup against Liverpool, City only have one tough game on paper. The game is the Manchester Derby on the 6th of March. However, Wolves can prove to be a stern test for Pep Guardiola’s men.

Manchester City will also be playing Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa in their remaining twelve games. Liverpool faithful will be hoping that Stevie G and Phillipe Coutinho can help Liverpool win the premier league title by defeating Guardiola’s men.

This is a very simplistic way of looking at the premier league, and we all know how many curveballs the league can throw at Liverpool. So we just have to hold a little tighter and hope for the best!
