Arch-rivals Liverpool and Manchester United were up against each other at Anfield, let’s have a look at the player ratings.

In a Tuesday night Premier League game, Manchester United traveled to Merseyside. My gosh, what a display by the home side to thrash Manchester United 4-0.

For the time being, Liverpool moves to the top of the Premier League table with two points clear of Man City.

Liverpool vs Manchester United: Player ratings

Goalkeepers & Defenders

Alisson Becker (GK) – 7.5/10

The Brazilian was hardly troubled in the first half. Meanwhile, in the second half made two big saves in quick succession. Meanwhile, his ball distribution was top-notch throughout the game.

But the highlight of his performance was when he showed his confidence with a Cryuff turn in the third minute in his penalty box.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) – 8/10

The Right-back was a joy to watch. He found the time and space in the right flank and was seen spending time in the midfield.

After the introduction of Jadon Sancho at halftime, Trent was given some hard time. But he defended well and was superb with passing and set pieces deliveries.

Joel Matip (CB) – 7.5/10

Matip returned into the starting eleven in place of Ibrahima Konate. But to be honest, the center-back was hardly troubled by the away side. Yes, it was that type of game.

His first-time pass into Sadio Mane allowed the forward to use the pace of the ball to chip it onto Salah for the second goal.

Virgil van Dijk (CB) – 8/10

The Dutchman was constantly pushing the team up the pitch. But there were a few nervy moments for Van Dijk in the early stage of the second half.

But more or less, it was a cakewalk for the Liverpool No.4

Andrew Robertson (LB) – 8/10

The Scotsman set the standard very high in the second half. Robertson a constant threat on the left flank, with his superb winning possession and interception, was crucial.

Midfielders

Fabinho (CDM) – 8/10

The Brazilian was comfortable throughout the game. Nearly assisted Diaz, who scored but was offside, in the first half with a driving run into the United area.

Definitely, when he plays well, Liverpool plays well.

Jordan Henderson (CM)- 8/10

The Captain was the engine of the team. Really showed how to lead the team against the arch-rivals, so proud of the captain.

Hendo was tidy in possession and never let anyone drop standards.

Thiago Alcantara (CM)- 9/10

The Spaniard completely schooled Manchester United throughout the game. Thiago dictated the game and has been in good form lately.

His mischievous passes and sweet tricks were so pleasing to watch.

Forwards

Mohamed Salah (RW) – 9/10

The Egyptian King has registered an assist and two goals, to end his goals drought. A vintage Mo Salah performance against United.

Never doubt the king. He’s back and could be the start of another unstoppable run at the perfect time.

Sadio Mane (ST) – 9/10

What a magnificent run he is having. The Senegal International is enjoying a golden week and scoring and assisting for fun.

The majestic pass to set up Liverpool’s second and Salah’s first was sublime. Moreover, his effortless goal was all about his intelligence in movement in the penalty box to deceive the United defense.

Luis Diaz (LW) – 8/10

What a signing he is proving to be. The Colombian looks like he can play full of energy all day long.

Another fantastic day at the office as he opened the scoring with a simple tap-in after five minutes and had another ruled out for offside. Moreover, before being subbed, his last act was to set up Sadio Mane’s goal.

Substitutes

Luis Diaz – 7/10

The Portugal international was introduced in the 70th minute but the game was already done dusted by then. But showed his class to set up Salah’s second of the night with the perfectly weighted pass.

Naby Keita (CM) – 6/10

Keita came in place of Thiago with 10 minutes left on the clock. But took an unnecessary yellow card for the tackle on Jesse Lingard.

James Milner – N/A
