A massive Premier League fixture this weekend, as Quadruple chasing Liverpool welcomes Tottenham at Anfield.

Two contrasting teams are up against each other with neither can drop points for their end of season goal. A battle between two genius brains of the game as Jurgen Klopp and Antonio Conte will be up against each other.

Liverpool vs Tottenham: Preview

After booking a place in the final of the Champions League, the Reds will turn their attention to Premier League. The six-times European Champions are into their third Champions League final in the last five seasons.

Liverpool seems to be getting close to their Quadruple dream after each game going by. With already EFL Cup under its belt, Liverpool have an FA Cup final against Chelsea coming up next Saturday.

Moreover, a Champions League final against Real Madrid looming on May 28 in what will be their 63rd game of the season.

The Reds have become the first British club to reach the final of all three competitions in a single season. What an incredible team.

But the tough task lies ahead, as they face a Tottenham in a tricky fixture. Certainly, the last team from the big six teams that Klopp’s men are facing in the title challenge.

With the team flying high, all their dreams can get shattered if Conte puts a masterclass at Anfield on Saturday.

The game has huge importance to Spurs too, given they are in a tight top 4 race where they can’t afford to drop points. Both North London teams Tottenham and Arsenal are fighting for a spot in the next season’s Champions League.

The margin for error is increasingly slim as matches run out. It could be that even a draw away to Liverpool could be a very good result at any other stage of the season.

As Arsenal are going to Leeds the following day, Conte would seemingly expect the Gunners to win at Elland road, so getting a result at Anfield becomes more important.

But the problem for Conte’s side is they have been very inconsistent through the season. You just never know which side of Spurs you’re getting to see.

Spurs had been scoring freely for much of 2022 before back-to-back games where they failed to even have a shot on target against Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford.

Meanwhile, the relentless home side are unbeaten in 21 league outings with an aggregate score of 52-9 across those fixtures, while they have not dropped a single point at Anfield since October, winning 12 in a row.

The Reds have kept 10 clean sheets in that time too, including in each of their last five outings, with Norwich City on February 19 the last Premier League team to breach Liverpool’s defence at Anfield.

But a mouth-watering game up there for sure, if Spurs can again find their scoring touchback.

Team News

Forward Roberto Firmino still remains the only doubt for the tie. Otherwise, the squad returned injury free from their trip to Spain.

The big concern for Klopp remains, who he starts in the frontline in a crunch fixture. Both Salah and Mane have played 90 minutes each, meanwhile, Jota played 45 minutes.

Klopp also has one eye on the Aston Villa game in the midweek. Also, FA Cup final coming up next weekend.

Luis Diaz’s half-time introduction was largely inspiring the Liverpool turnaround at El Madrigal. Therefore, the Colombian surely starts in the starting XI for this match.

Captain Jordan Henderson and defender Joel Matip should start the game, having been on the bench against Villarreal.

Liverpool’s possible starting lineup:

Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago; Salah, Mane, Diaz

A high scoring fixture on the cards. Not the game Liverpool fans will be looking forward to, as everybody understands how lethal Tottenham can to expose Liverpool’s few weaknesses.

The way, Spurs beat Man City earlier in the season, which brought back Liverpool in the title race, similarly, Man City fans will be hoping for the same to happen.

This fixture is the second-highest scoring one in Premier League history and we expect goals again.

But the home side’s current form and ability to smash teams apart makes Liverpool the favourites over Tottenham.

Liverpool looks very likely to prevail over Tottenham with a 3-2 win.
