The Egyptian King Mohamed Salah equalizes Cristiano Ronaldo’s Champions League record. Ronaldo has scored in seven consecutive away games in Champions League. A record which Mo Salah reached with his goal against AC Milan yesterday.

Liverpool travelled to San Siro to face AC Milan in their final group stage fixture of this season’s Champions League. The home team needed a win to secure their spot for the knockouts. Milan scored at the 28th minute and after 8 minutes we are back on level terms by Salah’s goal. Thus, a shift in the momentum resulted in Origi finding the net in the 56th minute as Liverpool defeated AC Milan 2 – 1.

With their win against AC Milan, Liverpool becomes the first English team to win all their six-group stage match in the Champions League.

A record breaking performance by Mohamed Salah this season

An initial attempt by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was saved and the ball deflects from the keeper straight into the left foot of Salah, who Scored a one-touch goal to equalize the score in the initial half. Thus, with this Goal, Salah has now scored in seven consecutive away matches in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, It was in October 2020, where Liverpool beats Ajax 1 – 0 in the Amsterdam arena. Where Salah last time failed to score in an away fixture in the Champions League.

After Christiano Ronaldo scored in seven consecutive away games for Real Madrid in 2013 and 2014, Salah becomes the second player in the world to achieve this feat.

The goal was also his twentieth this season and Salah has achieved this benchmark for the fifth consecutive season for the Reds. The Egyptian is the first Liverpool player to achieve this feat after Ian Rush, who did it for six years in a row from 1981 to 1987.

Mohamed Salah is in brilliant form this season he has now scored 20 goals in 21 games across all competition. He has 13 goals and 9 assists this season in the Premier League. With this, he stands on top in most goals and assists this season in the Premier League.

He is also the first Red to score in five consecutive group stage fixtures in the same European campaign. If Salah continues to perform at the current level, surely, a Ballon d’Or is written on the cards for him.
