Star Reds Midfielder set to miss Liverpool vs Arsenal

Due to a recent injury, Liverpool’s star midfielder is set to miss the Liverpool vs Arsenal match, which takes place on the 16th of March.

The midfielder in question is Liverpool’s Spanish international, Thiago Alcantara.

Thiago set to miss Liverpool vs Arsenal

Though he was initially named in the starting eleven for the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea, he got injured in the warm-up. Due to this, Harvey Elliott was included in the team.

A heartbroken Thiago was seen crying on the bench as Liverpool battled Chelsea. The game went till penalties where young Liverpool keeper Caoimhin Kelleher scored the winning penalty.

According to David Maddock of the Mirror, the best-case scenario for the Spaniard’s return is 1-2 weeks. However, if the injury is severe he could miss a minimum of four weeks.

This means he could also miss the games against West Ham, Inter Milan, Brighton and Arsenal. The West Hame game being really crucial since the Hammers beat Liverpool the last time they met.

The Liverpool vs Arsenal game will also be crucial due to the intense rivalry between the two. Arsenal and Liverpool are both in good form so it will be an interesting matchup.

Thiago has been an important member of the Liverpool squad this season. He did have a rocky start to his career at Anfield, but ever since then, he has become a rock for Klopp.

His absence will surely be felt in the squad. One of Harvey Elliott, Naby Keita or Curtis Jones will replace him in the starting eleven.

Who do you think should replace Thiago in the squad? Do you believe that Thiago’s injury shows the lack of options in midfield? Should the club look to sign another midfielder like Kalvin Phillips or Toni Kroos? Or should they get someone from the youth academy?
