With the title race heating up, both Man City and Liverpool are under tremendous pressure. However, an injury to a Man City star has added a new twist to the title race.

Man City’s star defender Ruben Dias is injured and as a result of the injury could be out of 4 to 6 weeks. With the point difference only 6 with a game in hand for the Reds, this could not have come at a worse time.

According to the club’s website,

Ruben Dias, could be side-lined for several weeks … Confirming Dias had picked up a hamstring injury, the boss says he estimated the Portugal defender could miss ‘four to six weeks.

With Nathan Ake also out, Pep Guardiola only has two fit central defenders for the game against Manchester United.

Manchester City have a very good squad depth and it remains to be seen how this will affect the reigning champions.

However, we did see last season with Liverpool that having a key defender out for a long time can have a dangerous impact on the team.

With the champions league quarter-finals and the Liverpool game coming up, this injury could cause issues for Man City.

This can be a blessing for Liverpool. As this does not only make Man City weaker before the Manchester Derby, but also for the Liverpool game.

This could possibly be the extra push and luck that Liverpool need to grab the title away from them.

Right now, Liverpool are focused on West Ham. West Ham proved to be a tough opponent in the earlier part of the season. They were able to overcome Liverpool to win the game 3-2.

Who do you see winning the title? And how do you think this injury impacts not only Man City and the title race but also Liverpool?
