Liverpool youngster Kaide Gordon is still awaiting his comeback but now he has received praise from his former Derby County teammate Colin Kazim-Richards.
The Reds are one of the smartest clubs in doing business whether it is signing players for the senior team or young talents for the youth setup.
Although they produce good players from the academy, the Merseyside club also have a great scouting system which keeps an eye out for upcoming talents.
This summer the club has signed Amara Nallo and Trey Nyoni as promising young talents.
But sometimes things do not always go as planned. And this has been the case for Kaide Gordon’s career at Anfield. The 19-year-old has been out of the pitch for the last 18 weeks due to injury.
Liverpool winger Kaide Gordon awaits a comeback
The young winger joined LFC back in 2021 from Derby County. He then quickly broke into Jurgen Klopp’s team making an appearance back in 2021 in a 3-0 victory against Norwich City.
The left-footed winger, who turned 19 this year, looked very promising from the beginning of his Liverpool career.
He even became the second-youngest scorer in the club’s history as he scored his first goal for the club in the FA Cup clash against Shrewsbury Town in January 2022.
He also became the youngest Liverpool player to start a major semi-final when he featured in the League Cup second-leg win against Arsenal.
But due to a major pelvic injury, the former England U-18 international has been out of action.
Despite his absence, there is no doubt about his massive potential. Gordon’s former Derby County teammate Colin Kazim-Richards has spoken about him on FILTYFELLAS podcast. He said,
“You have Kaide Gordon as well who is coming up. He played with me at Derby when he was 15, he is wicked, he’s a baller.
He was 15 in our first-team. He had to have a chaperone.”
Although his return is long due, the best thing for him and the club would be to fully recover and be back on the pitch. For now, the youngster should focus on turning things around for good with rehab.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
