England international Kalvin Phillips has been on Liverpool’s radar for some time now, and it finally seems like the Reds are ready to make a bid for him.

Liverpool are ready to make a 33 million Pounds bid for the Englishman. However, Leeds United currently value Phillips at 60 million Pounds.

It was in October of 2021 that Liverpool’s interest in Kalvin Phillips began. However, Liverpool did not make an offer for the 26-year-old at that time.

Now, according to El Nacional, Liverpool are ready to make a bid. The bid is rumoured to be around 33 million Pounds. However, it is highly likely that this bid will be rejected by Phillips’ current club Leeds United. Moreover, The Peacocks don’t want to sell Phillips to another premier league outfit.

Kalvin Phillips to Liverpool?

According to the report, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of the midfielder. Moreover, Kalvin Phillips would also love a move to Liverpool.

However, Leeds United are more interested in selling the midfielder to Spanish outfit Real Madrid.

The 19-capped England international has not only been an integral part of Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds but has also helped England reach the Euros 2020 finals.

Phillips has said to have a fair share of suitors for him including clubs like Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid. While Andrea Pirlo is also a big fan of Phillips. Pirlo, according to The Athletic, said that England has never had a midfielder like him.

With ageing, James Milner and an inconsistent Naby Keita Liverpool do need a new midfielder. While there is young Harvey Elliot and academy product Curtis Jones, they need someone with experience. They will also soon have to replace Jordan Henderson, who is not getting any younger.

Kalvin Phillips can not only play in the centre of the park but can also press the ball really well. He is also useful in attacks, especially counter-attacks.

Kalvin Phillips is undoubtedly one of the most talented midfielders out there right now. At the age of 26, he is in his prime. With Leeds United performing poorly and not playing in Europe anytime soon, Phillips would need to leave the Whites to grow.

But signing him will not be easy for Liverpool. The competition includes clubs like Manchester City and Real Madrid, who have more money than Liverpool. It will surely be a tough race!

Meanwhile, Liverpool are also linked with a move for Toni Kroos of Real Madrid and Dennis Zakaria of Borussia Mönchengladbach.
