Liverpool 2-0 FC Porto – Player Ratings

Goal Keeper and Defenders

Allison (GK)- 6

The goalkeeper was captain for the night, and it was a quiet one. With the exception of one misplaced pass in the second half, Alisson’s performance was simple and clear. Distribution was good in the first half, but a little shaky after the break.

Neco Williams 7

Early on, fought with positioning, but had shown indications of awareness with Salah and fared much better after the break. He was able to demonstrate his power and intensity as he tried to push forward into attack.

Joel Matip 6

Matip had trouble communicating during halftime, but personally, his performance was rock solid. In the second half, Porto didn’t took their chances but Joel was composed thoroughly.

Ibrahima Konate 5

Got a yellow card for his foul, which showed some shaky signs. The Frenchman could have done better with his free header.

Kostas Tsimikas 6

The left back’s performance was an average one but he did improved in many aspects. Moreover, he made several overlapping runs behind Mane and did his job on the left flank.

Midfielders

Tyler Morton 7

A night to remember for the youngster. Solicited cheers with a few good passes and wasn’t afraid to get stuck in when required. In fact, Didn’t look out of place in midfield. A Good ball over top engineered to set up the second goal.

Thiago Alcantara 8

Simply, class. Man of the match performance from the Spaniard who made an excellent passing display in midfield.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 7

He was intense and clutter-free with the ball, but he frequently got himself into chaos when trying to create situations occur in the final third.

Forwards

Mohamed Salah 7

Oh Salah, aren’t you the cheekiest. A sheer class from the Egyptian scored yet again. Just give him a contract already for the love of God.

Takumi Minamino 6

Able to force corner with one good run, but, like many of his fellow players, he wasn’t quite at it in the first half. With his notably amazing movement, he wields power, though Klopp will want him to assert himself more.

Sadio Mane 6

The first quarter was quiet until a goal was ruled out for extremely negligible offside. Efforts continued in the second half, but a good opportunity was missed.

Subsitutes

Jordan Henderson 7

Came in place for the man of the match Thiago. Set up the second goal for Salah, also missed a chance with his free-kick.

Andy Robertson 7

Came for Tsimikas, was trying to make his impact with his solo trademark run on the left flank.

Divock Origi 7

The Belgian makes a lively bit part. He thought he’d won a penalty, but he was actually outside the box. On the left flank, he demonstrated willingness.

Fabinho 6

6 rating for the no 6. Not really a terrible role model to have alongside Tyler.

James Milner

Came on for Oxlade-Chamberlain. Was quite in midfield, nevertheless, shouldn’t be hard on him, after all he came back after a month.
