Liverpool tries to scoop a late Ruben Neves deal

Liverpool FC have been told the price tag for Ruben Neves as they try to sign the player before the window ends.

Liverpool has already been told that acquiring Wolves midfield wizard Ruben Neves will cost them £100 million. The Reds are now in a race against time to acquire a midfielder before the transfer window slams shut. Klopp has admitted he was “wrong” in thinking his team did not need to bolster the midfield.

Liverpool was set to buy a new all-action midfield enforcer during the summer transfer window. But after Real Madrid beat them to the signing of Tchouameni, the Reds chose to wait until the next summer. Since then, injuries have crippled Klopp’s team. This led German to change his mind about believing they had enough options in the middle of the field.

Before the Reds’ match against Bournemouth, Klopp said he had erred and insisted that his team did, in fact, need a fresh midfield addition. He said he knew he was the one who didn’t want a midfielder. But he has come to the realization that he was wrong and fans were right in asking for one.

The club will do something but it has to be the right one. We are looking for it and if it is the right player we need him. But if it is not the right player, we don’t need him.

Liverpool is in a mad dash to fill their midfield needs as the clock ticks down to the transfer deadline. Frenkie de Jong and Ruben Neves have arisen as two of the Reds’ main transfer targets. But acquiring the latter would appear to be expensive.

Liverpool will have to pay £100 million to get Ruben Neves

Bruno Lage said that it would take a whopping £100 million for a prospective suitor to get Neves away from Molineux. This is despite United, Arsenal, and Hotspur all being in a move for the Portuguese star.

The 25-year-old came to the club in 2017. He has since made over 216 appearances and has been crucial to Wolves’ success. With a tonne of Premier League experience under his belt. As well as his ongoing role as the West Midlands team’s dominant midfielder, it should come as no surprise that Klopp is a fan.

It is unclear how desperate the Liverpool manager would be to sign the Portuguese playmaker given that the current transfer window has only a few days left. Even though Klopp made clear the Reds didn’t need any further signings. But he may have to make one of the biggest transactions of the summer to address their present midfield dilemma.
