Liverpool may have just hit the jackpot in their chase for Marc Guehi and Anthony Gordon. Despite the transfer window being wide open for weeks, the Reds are still waiting to land their first summer signing.
New sporting director Richard Hughes is managing the summer transfer activities at Anfield. He is working closely with newly appointed head coach Arne Slot to prepare Liverpool’s squad for the upcoming season.
Slot has been evaluating the team during the early days of pre-season training, ahead of their trip to the United States later this month.

Although Liverpool have not yet secured any new players, the rumours are flying here and there. Guehi and Gordon are two of the names being linked to potential moves to Anfield.
Currently, their futures at Crystal Palace and Newcastle United, respectively, remain uncertain.
Both players were part of England’s Euro 2024 campaign, which ended on Sunday night with a 2-1 defeat to Spain in the final in Berlin.
Now that the tournament is over, the players will take a summer break before rejoining their respective clubs.

Guehi was a regular starter at the centre-back position for England throughout the tournament. He even played the full match in the final.
On the other hand, Gordon saw limited action, playing just four minutes during the entire competition.
Gordon And Guehi: Double Deal?
With Euro 2024 behind them, transfer activities are expected to intensify for clubs across Europe, as players are no longer tied up with international duties.
Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes hinted at this in a press conference earlier this month, suggesting that the conclusion of the tournament would accelerate transfer dealings.
Now that Gordon and Guehi are no longer on England duty, Liverpool might find it easier to negotiate deals with their respective clubs and arrange medical examinations.
As per the report of The Telegraph last month, Crystal Palace has valued Guehi at £65 million, while Gordon, who joined Newcastle last year, was valued at £45 million. Liverpool are eyeing these two promising talents for a combined total of £110 million.
