Klopp reveals a star defender to make a possible return to the Liverpool squad in today’s Champions League clash against Rangers.

An inevitable return for the Liverpool star defender

Andrew Robertson will play for Liverpool against Rangers in the Champions League tonight, according to manager Jurgen Klopp.

Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold have picked up injuries along with Luiz Diaz. Meanwhile, the Robertson announcement increases the number of defence personnel. The Reds full-back’s last appearance was in the team’s 4-1 loss to Napoli in Europe, more than a month ago.

However, despite Liverpool’s growing injury list, Klopp was able to provide some encouraging fitness-related news. As he said Curtis Jones, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain won’t play, the Liverpool manager mentioned Robertson, who looks all set for his return.

Match against Rangers

Kostas Tsimikas has been doing an excellent job filling in for Robertson, but the latter’s return to the team couldn’t have come soon enough.

This season, Liverpool have struggled, therefore Klopp is encouraged by the return of a “world-class” player.

Although the Reds manager may not start Robertson against Rangers, you’d imagine he would add him to the lineup later.

It makes sense that the German manager would not start Robbo in tonight’s game against Rangers.

The injury problem affecting Liverpool is finally beginning to ease. While early in the season, the Reds were completely depleted, which had a negative impact on both performances and outcomes.

But now that players like Thiago Alcantara, Andy Robertson, Diogo Jota, and Ibrahima Konate have all just returned to action, things seem a little better for Jurgen Klopp.

The fact that numerous more are anticipated to return this month suggests that things could soon get much better. Who knows, Klopp could get access to his entire roster shortly.

However, the recent injury pick-ups might stand as a barrier. As Luiz Diaz will miss out on games until December. Moreover, Trent and Matip joined the injury bench as well. Robbo’s return might bring a little ease to this situation.
