Premier League side Liverpool could get a financial boost before the end of this season.
This is all happening thanks to a Premier League rules. The Reds now just need one point to win the Premier League this season.
However, this Premier League rule will benefit other clubs as well as Liverpool.
Three English clubs, including Leicester City, Southampton, and Ipswich Town, could be relegated to the Championship.
The clubs are now on the way to relegation after spending one season in the Premier League.
On the other hand, Leeds United and Burnley are on their way to clinch the automatic promotion from the Championship this week.
So the clubs will return to the Premier League after relegation in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
Under the Premier League rules, clubs relegated to the Championship basically receive parachute payments from the league.
According to multiple reports (via The Mirror), these amounted to approximately £44 million in the first year. After that, £36 million in the second, and finally £16 million in the third.

What is this new Premier League rule that will help Liverpool?
But there is a catch. If a relegated club secures promotion before the payment schedule concludes, the remaining funds will be allocated to all twenty clubs in the Premier League. And this will include Liverpool FC as well.
As Leeds United and Burnley are back in the Premier League for the next season, the Premier League halts their parachute payments after just one season.
So, the estimated £52 million are now distributed equally among top-flight clubs. So, this will benefit all the Premier League clubs.
All the Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, will receive £2.6 million. This success will definitely help them to sign more players in the summer.
