Barella might be the one Liverpool are lacking in the middle of the park ahead of 22-23
Inter Milan midfield general Nicolo Barella functions as a box-to-box midfielder. The Italy international has a tremendous work rate, as well as covering for his teammates both on and off the ball.
Barella is a player whom every manager in world football desires.
At Inter, Barella plays on the right of Brozovic at midfield, in Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 system. At Liverpool, he would replace Jordan Henderson on the right of the midfield three.
His firm energy allows him to cover a large part of the pitch. Also, his ability to time his runs into the box would connect well with Mo Salah.
However, Liverpool would have to work on his susceptibility to counters, given Trent Alexander-Arnold’s liking to play higher up the pitch.
Barella is an all-action player, yet under Klopp’s management, the sky could be the limit for the Italian.
