Liverpool are reportedly willing to include Naby Keita in a player-plus-cash deal to sign Inter Milan midfielder Nico Barella.

Barella has emerged as one of Italy’s current generation talent, and one of the first names on Inter and Italy’s team’s sheet.

Moreover, It’s now well known to all, how much Liverpool boss Klopp admires midfielder Nico Barella.

Previously, Klopp showed his admiration for the midfielder when the Nerazzuri’s faced the Reds in UCL Round of 16 ties, last season. The German describes

“He’s a really, really good player. He has all the things you want from a midfielder”.

However, Nicolo Barella only renewed his Inter contract last season. The midfielder is crucial to Simone Inzaghi’s project as well as Italy boss Roberto Mancini’s.

According to a report on the Italian site, CMW claims Liverpool are preparing a deal that includes a player-plus-cash to sign Barella. The deal will see the Reds’ midfielder Naby Keita moving to San Siro.

In the meantime, the Nerazzuri rates the 25-year-old around the region of £77.5million.

Barella initially joined Inter in a loan deal from Cagliari in the summer of 2019, later the move became permanent in 2020.

The Inter No.23 so far has played 135 times in the last three seasons. Moreover, in the 2021/22 season, Barella was involved in 17 goals, scoring four, and assisting 13. He has 11 goals and 34 assists in his three seasons at Inter.

Inter Milan midfield general Nicolo Barella functions as a box-to-box midfielder. The Italy international has a tremendous work rate, as well as covering for his teammates both on and off the ball.

Barella is a player whom every manager in world football desires.

At Inter, Barella plays on the right of Brozovic at midfield, in Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 system. At Liverpool, he would replace Jordan Henderson on the right of the midfield three.

His firm energy allows him to cover a large part of the pitch. Also, his ability to time his runs into the box would connect well with Mo Salah.

However, Liverpool would have to work on his susceptibility to counters, given Trent Alexander-Arnold’s liking to play higher up the pitch.

Barella is an all-action player, yet under Klopp’s management, the sky could be the limit for the Italian.
