Liverpool FC are still pushing to sign a £59m star defender. The Reds want to reinforce their defense for the long term. And they have already made an offer to sign the player.

Liverpool FC are going all out this transfer window.

The Reds have already signed striker Darwin Nunez. And that too for a club-record fee.

They are on verge of signing young right-back Calvin Ramsay.

Reds want to build a really strong squad. And they don’t want to waste any time in rebuilding the squad in case star players like Van Dijk or Salah leave.

Liverpool Made an offer to sign £59m rated Juventus star defender

To be honest, Liverpool do not require a central defender this summer, although Matthijs de Ligt has been connected with the club for the previous month.

The Merseysiders have moved in with an offer to sign the Dutch international. As defender’s future at Juventus is doubtful, according to Corriere Dello Sport.

Today, the Italian news source said that big European teams, including Liverpool, are vying for the services of Juventus’s Netherlands player.

According to CdS, the Reds’ threat is growing more concrete with the passage of time, and the Old Lady is concerned.

De Ligt recently stated that finishing fourth in Serie A is insufficient. After already losing Chiellini, the Bianconeri are attempting to reach an agreement with the 22-year-old sensation. But things are not going well.

According to the news outlet, if the youngster does not extend his contract until 2026, he may be sold during the summer transfer window.

La Gazzetta Dello Sport reported earlier this month that the former Eredivisie star wants a move away from Turin. And he could be permitted to depart for €70 million (£59 million).

De Ligt won the domestic double with Ajax under Erik ten Hag, and he has won every major domestic trophy in Italy since joining Juventus.

In terms of central defense, Liverpool had the best (equal) defensive record in the Premier League the previous season. and has plenty of quality and depth. As a result, there’s no reason to sign a center-back this summer.

But Liverpool are hoping to find a long-term defensive partner for Ibrahim Konate. As they are aware that Van Dijk is over 30 and his prime won’t last long.
