Liverpool secured a hard-fought win against their potential signing Ruben Neves, in Molineux in an FA Cup third-round replay on Tuesday evening.

The Reds had lost their recent PL fixture to an in-form Brighton side, and Klopp was looking for a reaction from his side against Wolverhampton. Thus, the Merseyside somehow managed to grab a victory via Harvey Elliott’s amazing strike.

Why Liverpool looking for Ruben Neves?

Wolves are currently going through a decent run. They have secured seven points from their last four league games. Thus, one of the main reasons behind their impressive defensive performance is their heart of midfield Ruben Neves.

As per Football Insider, the Merseyside giants are preparing a move for Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves.

Neves is in sensational form this year. The Portuguese has already scored 4 goals in 18 matches he played for the English side.

Ruben joined Wolves from Portuguese side Porto in the 2017-18 season. Since then he became the most important player for The Wanderers. The 25-year-old has almost played every possible match for the Premier League outfit.

Ruben carrying Wolves

The Portuguese star’s 2020-21 season is the best season for the Wolves so far. He started 31 matches out of a possible 36, scoring 5 goals and assisting 1 in the whole season.

The quality of 25-year-old’s cannot be judged only through goals and assists. His press resists ability is the one that separates him from the other Premier League midfielders.

Klopp previously claimed that Liverpool are unlikely to make any more signings in this transfer window. But now the reports claim that the Reds are pushing for the 25-year-old midfielder.

Red’s in Transfer window

The Merseyside giants have been keen to add midfielders to the squad. Their number one target was Jude Bellingham but the German club Borussia Dortmund won’t allow the player to leave until the summer transfer window.

This has increased the interest of the Reds to go for the Wolves midfielder.
