With such financial turmoil, the Reds are expected not to do any transfer business in the remaining days of the January window, but the current position of the club demands quality signings to at least challenge the top 4 spot.

The English side is in deep trouble. To cope with this financial crisis they are looking to sell some first-team players to recruit certain quality players.

According to The Mail, the Reds are in discussion over the departure of defender Nat Phillips. Although the newspaper doesn’t name the interested club but it is rumored that the potential club could be PSG.

The French side is looking for their first Champions League and Phillips could provide more depth in the current French champions’ squad.

Nat played 2 matches for only 66 minutes in the 2022-23 season. The 25-year-old joined the Merseyside club in the 2019-2020 season but has never been able to be the first-choice defender in the eyes of Jurgen Klopp. He is currently playing in the U21 squad.

The Englishman has been on the market in the past. He is currently a fifth-choice central defender for Jurgen Klopp. The recall of Rhys Williams has also opened up the path for the English club to seek a sale once more.

The Reds need to solve their midfield problem as soon as possible. Thus, selling out some players will definitely add more funds to bring in a quality midfielder.
