Liverpool all set to write new history on Tuesday night as they face Villarreal in the 2nd leg semi-final of the Champions League.

The Reds have a 2-goal cushion in the tie and look comfortable to reach the final of the competition in Paris. Klopp would seek to complete the job against Villarreal in the Estadio de la Ceramica.

The Yellow Submarine side fought hard in the first leg and kept relentless Reds quite in the opening half. But currently the best team in Europe, stuck two quick goals in the second half to finish off the game.

Meanwhile, Emery’s men failed to register a single shot on target last week at Anfield.

Liverpool certainly on course for the unprecedented “Quadruple”.

Odds favoring Klopp’s Liverpool to progress, but Unai Emery’s men have certainly upset the odds before.

Liverpool have enjoyed an impressive run so far in the 2021-22 Champions League season. The Merseyside giants secured a 100% record in the group stage to move to the knockout stage.

Moreover, so far, the defining run for the club has been the journeys to Porto, Benfica, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan’s territory in the Champions League this term. Klopp has seen his side come out on top on all five occasions.

Interestingly, the six times European Champions have also scored at least two goals in each of those matches. A European record is theirs for the taking against Villarreal this week.

Should Liverpool advance to the final by winning the second leg, it will mark new feat in the competition’s records. A 100% streak away from home in the competition for the most games in a single campaign is up for grab for the Reds.

Even though Villarreal endured a poor night at Anfield last week, Klopp will not be taking Villarreal lightly. Previously, two European heavyweights Bayern Munich and Juventus have failed to win on Villarreal’s turf so far this season.

But, the away side will enter the Estadio de la Ceramica relatively with a 12-game unbeaten run. Previous loss for Klopp & Co. was the inconsequential last-16 second-leg loss to Inter Milan.

Since Leicester City defeated Liverpool back in December 2021, no team has been able to beat them in 2022 away from home yet.
