Liverpool are now reportedly in advanced talks with their kit manufacturer Nike for a new deal that might exceed £70M-a-year.
The Anfield giants did amazing business in the transfer market with the four signings this summer to complete the midfield rehaul.
However, the club is also working behind the curtains where they are now trying to get a new deal done with their kit sponsor Nike.
The US-based signed a ‘multi-year’ deal with the English giants back in June of 2020. And they became the kit supplier for playing, training, and travel wear.
But now the deal is going to end within less than a year in 2024 and both the parties need to act fast on it. And latest update adds to the rumours.
Liverpool to sign a new deal with Nike
According to the latest report via Football Insider, both the Reds and the shoe and apparel company are eager to extend this business relationship further.
And both parties are also on the verge of signing a new deal to continue the commercial success of this partnership.
They have collaborated on multiple successful projects. One of the most successful collaborations has been a merchandise series named after Liverpool stakeholder LeBron James.
Although Nike pays the Merseyside giants only £30M per year for the partnership, still they generate revenue from the shirt sale profit percentage. The Anfield giants make 20 percent money from all shirt sales.
This is much higher than most PL clubs make from their kit sponsorship deals. LFC and Nike might be agreeing on a deal worth £70M or higher, sustaining the current terms.
If the Reds secure this deal, they will get closer to the £90M-a-year deal between Manchester United and Adidas.
Thus, at the Moment the Red Devils remain to be the club that carries the most expensive deal in the Premier League.
An ardent football fan and a proud Red. I take immense pleasure in analyzing the intricacies of the game.
