Wednesday night saw Liverpool slot 6 goals past Leeds United to reduce Man City’s lead to six points. Here are the player ratings from the Liverpool Leeds game.

Player Ratings Liverpool vs Leeds United

Goalkeepers & Defenders

Alisson Becker (GK) – 7/10

Was lucky to not have conceded, when Dan James caught the Brazilian’s bad touch. Luck aside, the 29-year-old had a solid game. He made 2 saves and played 5 successful long balls.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) – 7/10

Back in the squad after missing the Norwich game, the 23-year-old put a good performance. His defence abilities were tested by Leeds’ attackers, but he came out strong. Played 2 key passes and 4 accurate long balls. Unlucky to not get an assist.

Joel Matip (CB) – 8/10

A rock in Liverpool’s defence, Matip was brilliant last night. Not only did bail out Alisson, but also scored a pitch-perfect goal after a one-two with Salah. Also had an 88% pass success rate and a 100% tackle win rate.

Virgil van Dijk (CB) – 8.5/10

Pocketed Dan James and Raphinha, while maintaining a disciplined offside line. Not only did he keep a clean sheet but also scored a goal in the dying moments. He was at the top of his passing also, completing the most passes in the game (85).

Andy Robertson (LB) – 7.5/10

Like his full-back partner, the scot was also rested for the Norwich game. He helped set Salah’s opener with a cross which lead to a penalty. He also showed great signs of building a connection with Luis Diaz. Could have gotten another assist if Salah finished his cross. Played massive 4 key passes and had a 100% accuracy on his long balls.

Midfielders

Fabinho (CM) – 7/10

The Brazilian was far from his best last night. Not only did he miss a sitter, but was also a little sloppy in the start. However, ended up dominating the midfield later on.

Thiago (CM) – 8/10

The little magician finished the game with a 93% passing rate, the highest in the game. Won 4 ground duels and had six recoveries. His ability to find space caused a real problem for Leeds United.

Curtis Jones (CM) – 7/10

Jones was finally given a chance after being absent in the last three games. The 21-year-old completed the most dribbles on the pitch with 7 and had three shots on target. Good pressing from him too!

Forwards

Mohamed Salah (RW) – 9/10 (Man of the Match)

Not only did the Egyptian add two to his tally of 150 in the first half, but he also set up Matip’s goal. He was also instrumental in Mane’s 80th-minute goal. 27 goals for the season for Salah now, the sky is the limit for him!

Sadio Mane (ST) – 8.5/10

The Senegalese also had a brilliant game. The AFCON winner not only scored two goals, but also created 5 chances in the match, the most by any player. He also had an 82% passing rate with 5 recoveries.

Luis Diaz (LW) – 8.5/10

The new signing had another decent performance and was unlucky to not have a goal or assist to show for it. Had a 91% passing rate, played 2 key passes and had two shots on target. He also completed 6 successful dribbles.

Substitutes

Jordan Henderson (CM) – 7/10

Replaced Thiago in the 68th minute and came on for a lively cameo. Brought energy into the game and assisted Sadio Mane’s goal.

James Milner (CM) – 6/10

Got a few minutes under the belt for his boyhood club. Received a great reception from home and away fans.

Divock Origi (ST) – 6.5/10

Did not have much time, but was able to force a fifth goal by setting up Mane’s second goal.
