Liverpool invites three academy players to a pre-Champions League final training session

As Liverpool gets ready to face Real Madrid. A 27-man Liverpool squad exercised, with Jurgen Klopp calling in three Liverpool academy youngsters for the Pre-UCL final training.

Liverpool hosted a media day in Kirkby. This was part of their preparations for the upcoming match against Real Madrid in Paris.

Players and staff did interviews throughout the pitch. And held an open training session in addition to a press conference with Jurgen Klopp, Jordan Henderson, and Mohamed Salah.

Klopp, as is customary, let Pepijn Lijnders and Vitor Matos run the exercise. The manager and others like Peter Krawietz and Andreas Kornmayer, on the other hand, gave advice.

Loris Karius was not among the goalkeepers, although the German is set to leave the club after his contract expires this summer. His last appearance was in the 2018 final loss to Real Madrid.

Three Liverpool academy youngsters joined the pre-UCL final training

3 academy players also joined the Reds’ first-team training. These youngsters were Harvey Davies, Owen Beck, and Tyler Morton.

With only a few days till the Champions League final, Liverpool is in a crucial phase – and Klopp’s inclusion of three young players in training was telling.

Harvey Davies filled in for Marcelo Pitaluga. He did drills alongside Alisson, Caoimhin Kelleher, and Adrian.

Owen Beck, a 19-year-old left-back, was also part of the defensive group. And with Thiago working separately from the group as he recovers from an Achilles injury, Tyler Morton, also 19, stepped into the midfield ranks.

Rhys Williams has been part of the Champions League squad for the second half of the season. And has remained a regular in the senior group.

Klopp will choose 12 substitutes for the final in Paris. And at least one of those kids has a chance to make the matchday roster.

If that is the case, there will be complete trust in them to fill in. But Liverpool are now in a particularly excellent position in terms of fitness.

Thiago is set to return before the final and could possibly start. While Fabinho trained as usual on Wednesday and Joe Gomez continued to increase his activity following an ankle injury.
