Liverpool Set To Splash £42.5m On Star Duo – Major Defensive Overhaul Looming?

Although Liverpool already have a number of centre-backs, they are hoping to bolster their defence for the next campaign and are interested in signing Hincapie and Pacho who are each valued at £42.5 million.

Hincapie And Pacho: Targets In Liverpool List

According to reports Liverpool are interested in signing William Pacho and Piero Hincapie two Ecuadorian central defenders from different Bundesliga clubs.

Liverpool are pursuing Frankfurt’s Pacho, who has a price tag of £42.5 million (€50 million) according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg.

Since last summer Hincapie who is presently with Bayer Leverkusen has also been under Liverpool’s notice.

Liverpool decided to put midfield reinforcements ahead of Hincapie who was on the verge of leaving his current team.

Uncertainty On The Price Tag

Liverpool are willing to pay £42.5 million for both Pacho and Hincapie according to a report by South American journalist Christian Martin via El Futbolero.

It’s unclear though if this sum applies to each player separately or to both together.

Liverpool probably wouldn’t be able to sign both defenders for a total of £42. 5 million given their respective valuations.

The Strategic Move By The Reds

Liverpool may not need to sign more central defenders despite the interest because Konate, Quansah, Gomez and captain Virgil Van Dijk are already part of their squad.

Despite having options Liverpool may choose to prioritize other areas during the summer transfer window despite the strategic move suggested by the emphasis on strengthening the backline.

Fans are eager to see what their management decides to sign in the upcoming transfer window as their defensive reinforcement to bring them back to being one of the best teams in Europe.
