Liverpool in pursuit of Savic, the attacking midfielder from Lazio

Liverpool are interested in signing Savic, according to Calciomercato, Italy. The reds are planning to make a move to sign the Serbian International Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio. However, the Italian giants Juventus who always have eyes for talents in Serie A have Savic under their radar.

Lazio gave 67.7 million pounds as the valuation of Savic last summer to the former Premier League champions. Notwithstanding, this summer Lazio might increase his value. With Juventus facing financial troubles they might not be able to pay more if Lazio increases the price.

The 26-year-old has made a really good start in the league this season. He has scored three goals and two assists in eight Serie A matches so far.

Should Liverpool sign Savic ?

Since the move of Georginio Wijnaldum from Liverpool to PSG. The Reds have become thin with their midfield options. With Naby Keita and Thiago Alcantara suffering from fitness issues. And with two senior players Jorden Henderson and James Milner giving out their best. Liverpool doesn’t have a solid attacking midfielder who can play the full 90 mins week in and week out like Gini.

So Savic could turn out to be a really good signing for the Reds. Moreover, he is a player who is not only at his peak, but could also dedicate much more game time with high energy levels.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is a  versatile midfielder who not only creates chances but also scores regularly. Liverpool Midfielders are creative but not goal scorers, , we hardly see goals from them.

Talking about the last season, the most goals scored by a Liverpool midfielder was 2, scored by Gini.  With Gini leaving to PSG Liverpool lack the creativity of an experienced attacking midfielder who could release our front three.

Signing Savic from Lazio this January could prove to be remunerative for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool. Thus, Savic could become a key player for Liverpool in the near future.
