Good news for Liverpool ahead of Carabao cup final

Two Chelsea stars limped off the field in the Blues’ game against Lillie in the Champions League. This has turned out to be good news for Liverpool ahead of the Carabao Cup Final.

Midfielder Mateo Kovacic and Hakim Ziyech both limped off the field in the second half of the game. Ziyech even had an assist before he limped off the field.

Liverpool given good news ahead of Carabao cup final

Thomas Tuchel hopes that Kovacic’s injury is not too bad and was yet to speak to the doctor about Ziyech’s injury. Adding to this Tuchel said,

Today is Tuesday, there are a lot of days to recover until Sunday. We don’t like to have that many injuries and more impact from the bench on a tactical matter. I hope they will be ready for Sunday.

These two players are not the only Chelsea players who are injured for the Carabao Cup Final. Chelsea also have doubts about Mason Mount’s and Reece Jame’s availability for the Carabao Cup Final.

Callum Hudson Odoi was also still missing from the Chelsea team and is a doubt against Liverpool due to his Achilles problem. Ben Chilwell, meanwhile, remains out for the rest of the season.

However, Chelsea are not the only team dealing with injury problems. Liverpool are also said to be sweating over the injuries of Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.

The duo missed the game against Norwich and are now said to miss the game against Leeds United too.

Both of them got injured during Liverpool’s Champions League game against Inter Milan. Diogo Jota sustained an ankle injury at half-time and was replaced by Roberto Firmino.

Firmino, who opened the scoring, however later had a muscle problem himself. Jurgen Klopp has recently revealed that he does not know if both of them will be available for the Carabao Cup final.

Liverpool currently doesn’t have any other injury going into the game against Leeds United and fans will hope it stays that way.
